大多歐洲企業(yè)不知“大數(shù)據(jù)”為何物

雖然大數(shù)據(jù)日益升溫，但還是有很多企業(yè)并不真正了解。很多企業(yè)甚至認(rèn)為，大數(shù)據(jù)就是海量數(shù)據(jù)存儲(chǔ)，并不包括數(shù)據(jù)分析本身。為此IDC近日就此表示，這些不懂大數(shù)據(jù)的企業(yè)將喪失發(fā)展機(jī)遇。
    近期在倫敦召開(kāi)的2013數(shù)據(jù)中心世界大會(huì)上，IDC市場(chǎng)調(diào)研機(jī)構(gòu)EMEA系統(tǒng)和架構(gòu)研究主任Donna Taylor表示，很多歐洲企業(yè)對(duì)大數(shù)據(jù)缺乏理解。令人驚訝的是，有44%的受訪者計(jì)劃通過(guò)存儲(chǔ)擴(kuò)容來(lái)應(yīng)對(duì)非結(jié)構(gòu)化數(shù)據(jù)的急劇增長(zhǎng)，而不是采用大數(shù)據(jù)解決 方案來(lái)應(yīng)對(duì)這些挑戰(zhàn)。
    他們將大數(shù)據(jù)視作是可以獲取更多信息的平臺(tái)，并能從中產(chǎn)生收益。但現(xiàn)在，預(yù)算有限，很多人并沒(méi)有看到大數(shù)據(jù)的價(jià)值所在，尤其是在歐洲企業(yè)中這一現(xiàn)象顯得更為普遍。
    緊縮的IT預(yù)算意味著對(duì)于大多數(shù)歐洲企業(yè)來(lái)說(shuō)，大數(shù)據(jù)系統(tǒng)僅僅是“錦上添花”而不是“雪中送炭”。
    與此同時(shí)，對(duì)更大存儲(chǔ)容量的需求也驅(qū)動(dòng)著SSD的部署。小批量的SSD可以取代數(shù)據(jù)中心大量的磁盤(pán)，不僅在性能方面有所提升，而且在能耗和散熱系統(tǒng)方面也能帶來(lái)重大變革。
