Sr. Data Engineer/Analyst will work as a part of the Analytics Platform Development team to create exciting new analytic solutions for Big Data. This role includes significant interaction with other engineers, scientists in the Solutions Group, Web Developers, User Experience personnel as well as Project Managers. Specific responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:
·   Develop high performance data processing and analytic code.
·   Assist with investigating and resolving platform issues and bugs.
·   Provide continuous, hands-on development expertise to analytic solution teams.
·   Work with data scientists, other software engineers, project managers, business teams and client architects to define requirements and design and develop end-to-end analytic solutions.
Develop best practices and use case studies with the analytic platform.  Participate in FOAK/POC creation and demonstration of capabilities to support pre-sales or new customer engagements.
·   Organize platform training sessions and mentor junior members.
·   Occasional international travel is required.

Education:               
Must possess a bachelor’s degree with a major in CS, CIS, MIS, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience. Master preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:
·   Two to five (2-5) years experience in developing data warehouses/big data solutions.
·   Good SQL development skills, ideally with more than one DBMS.
·   Extensive experience with at least one ETL tool. Good understanding of database scalability techniques and parallel ETL flows.
·   Good knowledge of big data and Hadoop technologies.
·   Strong Linux skills.
·   Strong problem solving skills.
·   Strong communication skills.
·   Have a passion for technology, for training and supporting people, and the ability to quickly learn new features and technology.
·   Have a passion for creativity, and pride in creating new requirements to enhance existing platform functionality.
·   Ability to generalize from specific solutions to general guidelines and methodology.
·   Experience in Python/R programming and analytics/machine learning packages is a plus
·   Good understanding of data science, statistics, and/or machine learning is a plus
